Lesser Redpoll
Went out to photograph the Redpolls. These are such tiny little birds and are really beautiful with their red displaying. I was working from a hide and they came quite close to get some decent shots.
Dippers of Kirkmichael
Spent the morning with the local village Dippers, they were busy nest building and a pleasure to watch.
Slavonian Grebes
Taken early morning and the mist had just about burnt away. I was watching these love birds doing their stuff...absolutely beautiful to watch....had to laugh as they both went into the reeds away from sight...they must of known I was watching :)

Capercaillie
Just returned from a wonderful wildlife encounter with this Scottish Capercaillie. I have been trying to photograph these for over a year and knew time was running out again if I was to see them before the lek starts.
This bird was actually in a tree before I noticed it, flying off into the woods. What a sight to see this huge bird flying low through the trees. Eventually it came close to the track again and so was able to take a series of images without disturbing it.
